Young coaches academy

Premise of the Program

The main purpose of the program is to train young coaches with good habits. This in turn will produce great training sessions for the region and improve players abilities.

Coaches will receive mentorship from the FFSW Regional Development Manager, Peter Dohnt and be exposed to practical experiences with coaching workshops, FFSW Training Centres sessions and FFSW Club visits.

We will encourage the young coaches to take or assist with a local CCJSA club team for the season, passing on knowledge and skills to the players in that team.

By producing better coaches, FFSW and CCJSA will produce better players, strengthening the competition and growing junior numbers.

FFSW Training Centre and Workshops

It is encouraged that the Young Coaches make time to assist with the running of the FFSW Training Centres and Coach Workshops. Here they will witness sessions run by Peter. These sessions will provide a good indication on where their coaching can take them. Our Training Centre operates on a Monday at the Soccerdrome, Hay Park from 4pm.

There will also be opportunities to participate in coaching courses throughout the year. These programmes will give you the right tools and experience to successfully gain your accreditation in that course.

The more sessions and workshops you can attend and assist in, will help you gain more experience, which in turn will help you complete your coaching courses. We do suggest you attend the coaching courses on offer throughout the year, these certificates and qualifications will allow you to coach at a higher level and even find employment in the sports industry, it looks good on resumes and you gain valuable experience in a leadership position.

Your participation

The more you put into this program the more you will get out of it. The more events and training sessions you attend the more experience and knowledge you will gain. You have the chance to better yourself and grow your skills, don’t waste this opportunity.

These programs won’t be a walk in the park, there will be times you will be out of your comfort zone at events and training sessions. If you don’t take steps forward, you will never move forward.

Monthly meetings

Monthly meetings will be conducted where we get together to discuss coaching styles, trends and various age group appropriate sessions. These meetings allow feedback and involvement from the Young Coaches to express what they have learnt and what areas they want to develop further.
